Ayelet studies the Roman Near East and late antique literatures, focusing on rabbinic literature. She pursued her undergraduate in Classics at Princeton, the M.Phil. in Judaism and Christianity in the Graeco-Roman World at Oxford, and a second master’s in Talmud at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. She taught Latin at Oxford and a yearlong course in introductory Talmud at the Hebrew University.
